RECYCLING

The Town of Holly has contracted with the Southeast & East Central Recycling Association to provide a dependable recycling service to Town residents. Annual cost to the Town for this service is based on Holly’s census population at 17¢ per person per month, or about $1600 annually. Recycling places less of a burden on available landfill space. Recycle containers for paper, glass and aluminum are conveniently located near the water tower, south Highway 89.

The Town of Holly no longer accepts electronics waste (E-Waste). Regulations do not allow any landfill to accept E-waste. To arrange proper disposal, call Plains Disposal at 719-353-2114.

“Waste electronic device” is defined as follows: a residentially generated device managed or deemed as solid waste, originally marketed by a manufacturer that is a computer printer, facsimile machine, digital video disc player, video cassette recorder, peripheral, radio, stereo, video game console or a video display device or computer monitor including a laptop, television computer monitor, notebook, ultrabook, netbook, tablet or electronic book that contains a cathode ray tube or a flat panel screen with a screen size greater than four inches measured diagonally; but does not include any type of telephone.
